Funky Owls Chess Club

Centered in Holliston, MA, the Funky Owls Chess Club is a fun and/or competitive chess club. Kids may join our online club at ChessKid.com, and enjoy interactive lessons with video, in between IRL (in real life) gatherings. Competitive kids may elect to become official USCF (United States Chess Federation) members and compete in rated tournament, or just play on our All Stars Team against other clubs both online and IRL for fun.

We have Newbie Classes available for the very beginner. There is no age minimum, use your judgment. We host Youth Chess Master's Classes periodically. Meet Chess Masters, National Masters, Grand Masters, and enjoy their stories, their lectures, interactives, and a simultaneous exhibition with each participant!

We host unrated fun tournaments with special sections and games for Newbie players. Open section for everyone else.

We host Chess Time with the Funky Owls at our local library monthly during the school year as a community program to encourage chess and help chess lovers find partners to play!

ChessKid (.com) is a website with a companion app, and limits kids to age 13. Funky Owls is also on Chess (.com), a website with a companion app that allows all ages from children to adults.
